A friend put a status update on Facebook that spurred a chain of comments including one where he proclaimed he would start wearing sweatpants to which I replied:
“Sweat pants are great - they send the world the message that you've given up on life.”
Apparently a foreign friend of his, who doesn’t speak great English and certainly doesn’t get our humor, read my comment and posted the following as her status:
”[Jane Doe] just saw some extraordinary comment on somebody else's status and felt very ashamed that she had been wearing sweat pants since the second year at law school and still hasn't switched back to her college jeans (I totally need to do something about it)”
