Interesting Southern (Non-Northeastern) Phenomenon #4

Today, as I worked in my windowless office, one of my coworkers came to my office to tell me to gather my purse, etc. and save the documents I was working on because the sky had turned pitch black and we might have to go to the "shelter in place". A "shelter in place" is a special area w/ lots of signage on each floor in my building that is essentially a hallway without windows. There was a tornado watch in much of the metro Atlanta area and we were on alert in case we had to get away from breaking windows. I immediately got terrified (especially when I saw the HUGE black, looming cloud overhead that had eerie lightning flashing out of it) and secretly wished I was in my Northeastern haven where the worst thing that happens is 3 feet of snow...I'll take a blizzard over a tornado ANY day.
